Movement is Medicine
Movement is Medicine is a combination of science, fitness, rhythm, music and movement. A method to regulate the nervous system, release stress and a mind-body connection. Stress is universal and understanding this is essential. This method is easy to follow and accessible to anyone. Music is a key element to this practice with a focus on rhythm, percussion, BPM and drums. During the first half, I guide you to find your natural rhythm using our hands and our bodies to connect to the present moment. In the second half i instruct you on how to shake, bounce and move more into your own rhythm. This practice is empowering, it will build confidence and contribute to form new healthy habits.
Adult classes - Mature Movement is Medicine - Soul, disco, jazz house, afro beats and reggae
From 9th December every alternating Monday i will share Movement is Medicine classes from 930 - 1030. Movement is Medicine is a combination of science, fitness, rhythm, music and movement. A method to regulate the nervous system, release stress and a mind-body connection. Stress is universal and understanding this is essential.
Music is a key element to this practice with a focus on rhythm, percussion, BPM and drums. I guide you to find your natural rhythm using our hands and our bodies to connect to the present moment. This practice is adaptable to all ages/medical conditions. Chairs can be used if needs be and i encourage attendees to move however their body allows them. This isn't a dance class, i am not a dance teacher, my job is to support you in your stress release, instruct you on ways to self regulate and ultimately find your natural rhythm.
Tickets are £4 each.
Please bring a yoga mat/blanket to sit on during the first half. We use our hands to self soothe through massage so we will be removing our shoes.
